The U.S. women’s soccer team dominated the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The national team defeated the Netherlands on Sunday by 2-0 in the championship match.

The Lyon, France victory fascinated the whole world because it marks the fourth world title and back-to-back wins for the team after winning the trophy in 1991, 1999, and 2015.

No one scored during the first half of the game, at the 61 minute mark, co-captain Megan Rapinoe scored the first goal of the game with a penalty kick. Midfielder Rose Lavelle, scored the second goal of the game just before the 69 minute mark.

Rapinoe was in disbelief after the win, “It’s surreal, I don’t know how to feel right now. It’s ridiculous.” She was awarded The Golden Boot for scoring the most goals in the shortest amount of time.

Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe both scored six goals and three assists. Morgan’s goals were scored in 445 minutes, and Rapinoe’s were in 394 minutes.
