Kylie Jenner enjoyed a festive weekend she threw for the birthday of her BFF Anastasia “Stassie” Karanikolaou. But some individuals are “troubled” after seeing one portion of the celebration — The Handmaid’s Tale-themed party.
In pictures and video shared on both Jenner and Karanikolaou’s Instagram accounts on Saturday, party guests were seen walking through Jenner’s house gate, which was redecorated to look just like the dystopian book and television adaptation’s fictitious setting Gilead.
Once they came, the show motivated each attendee to match the red robe costumes of Handmaid and to drink cocktails. And although the content of Instagram ensured that all partygoers had a nice time, many individuals on Twitter expressed worries that Kylie Jenner did not really know what the show was about. We don’t think Kylie cares about opinions of total strangers of which most, if not all, have done similar or worse. A birthday is a birthday, a party is a party, and every person is entitled to have whatever party they like without fear of being judged by others.
