After drifting apart, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk could simply not repair their relationship. It was beyond repair.
“Bradley was emotionally absent during the long time filming A Star Is Born,” a source PEOPLE magazine. “They tried to save the relationship but it had changed.”
Although Cooper, 44, and Shayk, 33, had trouble, not many people knew it because they always kept their romance out of the spotlight.
With the release of A Star Is Born, nominated for eight Academy Awards and marking his directorial debut, Cooper had a big year in 2018.
While attending the BAFTA awards earlier this year, where Cooper received the award for best original music, the actor and director thanked Shayk for “putting up with me” throughout the creative process that lasted many years.
On Thursday, it was confirmed that the couple had split up after four years together.
Clearly keeping busy, Shayk posted several pictures and videos with the Italian clothing brand Falconeri from her journey to Iceland on Saturday.
A source previously confirmed that before news of their split became public, Cooper and Shayk had “spent a lot of time apart.” A different source also said that “they were living totally separate lives.”
