Rip Torn, Emmy-winning comedian dies at 88. The actor was well known for his role as Artie on “Larry Sanders Show” which streams on HBO.
The reputable actor won an Emmy for this role and was nominated for it six times. In 1984, he was an Oscar nominee for his role in “Cross Creek”.

Rip Torn Career
In the 1956 movie “Baby Doll”, Rip debuted his film career and began his decades-long journey on screen and on stage.
Fans of “The Larry Sanders Show” were from a whole new generation, and Torn gained them all. He also took part in the “Men in Black” films, as Zed. More on his memorable roles include “30 Rock” and “Will & Grace”.
Elmore Rual Torn Jr. is his real name, and Rip was just a nickname from when he was a kid.
