Roy Batty of the Blade Runner, aka Rutger Hauer, dies at 75 at his home in the Netherlands after being ill for a while.
Steve Kenis, the agent of Rutger Hauer confirmed the sad news and announced the funeral that took place Wednesday.
News of the death first surfaced on his website. Apparently, the actor was ill and he passed away peacefully in his Dutch home.
He left his beloved wife, Ineke after 50 years of marriage.

With his 1982 performance, Hauer’s role in Blade Runner is highlighted as his most memorable.
His history includes his role in “True Blood” as Niall Brigant, Kingsley in “Galavant”.
He specializes in horror movies and vampire roles with “Dracula 3D” as Van Helsing. He also starred in “Salem’s Lot” as the vampire Barlow.
In 2018, his latest role was “Samson”, as he played the father of the main character.
Aside from his lifelong career, he was an active member of social causes as an outspoken sponsor of the environmental organization Greenpeace.
He is the founder of the Starfish Association, a non-profit devoted to AIDS awareness.
