Archie, the son of the Sussex Duke and Duchess has been christened in a private ceremony at the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Close family and friends attended the private baptization of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor on Saturday at Windsor Castle. Unfortunately, the Queen didn’t attend due to a prior engagement.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, and Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland attended.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to share the happiness of this day, and would like to thank everyone around the world for their ongoing support,” A Royal Communications spokesperson said, “They feel so fortunate to have enjoyed this special moment with family and Archie’s godparents.”
The press and the public were not included, the royal couple strayed away from publicizing the event. Archie’s godparents’ names weren’t revealed.
They were very keen on keeping this private, that they refused having press photographers They opted for Chris Allerton to capture the moment, he also photographed their wedding.
This all contributes to the Duke and Duchess desire to raise their son away from the spotlight.
