The Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Utah received a call regarding an overdue paraglider who went off radar near Sand Hollow State Park on Monday. Thompson should have landed an hour earlier and his cell phone couldn’t be reached, so local officials issued a massive search.
Reportedly, a helicopter located his position using GPS and found his body that evening alongside his paragliding equipment and a video recording device.
